Welcome to the only newsletter in WordPress by women, for women, and about women.

This Issue's Wonder Woman: Cheryl Hock

Cheryl Hock is a slender woman with a wide smile, dark eyes, and dark hair. She is wearing a white shirt and pink jacket.

Cheryl Hock is a freelance web developer and accessibility consultant who loves helping small business owners create a strategic web presence aligned with their goals. She's passionate about inclusivity and is committed to making the web more accessible, incorporating best practices in her own work and consulting for other designers & developers. Whether at work or hanging out with her family, she can usually be found with coffee in one hand and dark chocolate in the other.

What is your mantra?

What's my next best step?

Tell us 3-5 tech tools that you swear by that make life & work a little easier.

  • A portable external monitor - makes remote work easier!
  • Apple watch - I set "can't miss" notifications to show up there and then I can set my phone aside during focus sessions
  • Figma - great for sharing design prototypes with clients
  • Digital calendar - if it's not on there, I probably won't show up

What's in your mug/glass/bottle during work hours?

Coffee in one hand (hot in the morning, iced in the afternoon) and water in the other.

What's in your mug/glass/bottle after hours?

Usually water. Sometimes a bonus iced coffee.

Knowing what you do now, what advice would you give to your younger self?

Don't compare your weaknesses to someone else's highlight reel. No one has it all figured out, even if that's the image they're projecting.
