This Issue's Wonder Woman: Chenda Ngak

A woman with long brown hair, brown eyes, and an open smile stands with her arms crossed in a white shirt in front of trees.

Chenda is Automattic's Head of Communications. She has a background in executive communications and journalism. She's worked in every medium from print newspapers and magazines to broadcast TV. You may have seen her headlines at CBS News, CNET, and The Weather Channel. She was nominated for a Webby Award in the travel category and won an Internet Advertising Award while at The Weather Channel. At CBS News, she contributed reporting in years the network won the Alfred I. duPont and Edward R. Murrow awards. She coded her first (very basic) website in 2000 and built her first WordPress site in 2008. In her free time, she's traveling, writing, taking photos, or sleeping.

What is your mantra?

“In the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain” and "Don't save anything for the swim back." Those two sayings speak to my desire to get the most out of life.

Tell us 3-5 tech tools that you swear by that make life & work a little easier.

I'm always on the road and need to stay organized and connected, so my iPad, AirPods, TripIt, Beeper, and all-in-one travel adapter.

What's in your mug/glass/bottle during work hours?

Coffee and water with electrolytes

What's in your mug/glass/bottle after hours?

Knowing what you do now, what advice would you give to your younger self?

You deserve a seat at every table and you're not obligated to explain yourself to anyone.
